Workplace Violence

Workplace violence is violence, or the threat of violence, in the workplace or when an employee is on the job, and can range anywhere from threats, to verbal abuse, physical assaults, and even homicide. However the violence manifests, it is a growing concern for employers and employees nationwide. About 2 million Americans are victims to workplace violence each year.

The cost of workplace violence is staggering. A single incident can have tremendous repercussions, including immediate loss of life, physical or psychological trauma felt by the victim as well as the victim’s family, friends, and co-workers, loss of productivity and morale, and the public relations nightmare an employer has to face when news of the violence reaches the media.

Workplace violence affects other areas as well, including:

  • Temporary/Permanent Absence of Skilled Employee
  • Psychological Damage
  • Property Damage, Theft, and Sabotage
  • Productivity Impediments
  • Diversion of Management Resources
  • Increased Security Costs
  • Increased Worker’s Compensation Costs
  • Increased Personnel Costs

Everyone wants to feel safe when they go to work, and Coe Management Group can help you put together a program to prevent workplace violence and create a safe environment for everyone.
